Durban — The South African National Civic Organisation (SANCO) says the ANC leadership in KZN should be held accountable for the losses of party members.
SANCO said that the ANC desperately wanted to stay in power, despite its challenges and the concerns that some members were now leaving the party.
Earlier in the week, the ANC in KZN said they remained positive they would win the 2024 elections, EWN reported.
SANCO believed the the ruling party should explain why certain members of the party were leaving and defecting to other parties, notably Magasela Mzobe to the EFF.
KZN SANCO says it does not support its provincial chairperson Jacob Zuma’s decision to back the newly formed uMkhonto weSizwe for the upcoming elections. KZN secretary Sizwe Cele says they have resolved to vote for the ANC.

“This time around, the leadership of the ANC in KZN must know that they must answer for anyone who leaves the ANC, or they themselves must leave because they are sleeping on duty,” said SANCO’s KwaZulu-Natal secretary, Mazwe Cele.
Cele also said SANCO does not support former president Jacob Zuma and his decision to back the newly formed MK party for the upcoming elections and said they have resolved to vote for the ANC.
“We will be voting for the ANC. That is a resolution that was just recently re-affirmed. SANCO delegates unanimously agreed that the decision that we took a long time ago to endorse the African National Congress,” Cele said.
