Cape Town – Political parties have reportedly criticised the EFF for transforming Parliament into a “circus” and have collectively endorsed the suspension of Julius Malema and six other EFF MPs.
According to EWN, the National Assembly adopted a report recommending the suspension of Malema, Floyd Shivambu, and MP Mbuyiseni Ndlozi, along with docking one month’s salary for the six MPs.
The report also called for a public apology to President Cyril Ramaphosa for disrupting his State of the Nation Address in February.

While most parties welcomed the suspension, the EFF vowed to disrupt every State of the Nation Address until accountability is ensured.
“Every SONA is going to be disrupted for as long as no one is held accountable, for as long as the Phala Phala matter is not resolved,” the report quoted EFF MP Veronica Mente as saying.
The party plans to challenge the suspensions in the Western Cape High Court in early January.
Last month, Malema and the five other party MPs walked out of a disciplinary hearing into their conduct during the State of the Nation Address (Sona) in February, where they disrupted Ramaphosa’s speech.
According to IOL, Malema characterised the hearing as a “kangaroo court” and said that he would not allow himself to be persecuted by a “white man,” specifically referring to initiator Anton Katz, SC.
“You can go and be together in your own arrangement there. We are not going to participate in this kangaroo court because its outcome has been determined even before by yourself and the DA [Democratic Alliance], Malema was quoted as saying at the time.
