Cape Town — South African singer, Makhadzi, had good reason to celebrate as she reached an incredible milestone of 20 million streams on Spotify.
Makhadzi took to her Instagram timeline and posted a screenshot of her Spotify wrapped, showing off her numbers for the year. She managed 23 million streams, reached 1.5 million listeners, had 1.5 million hours, and reached 183 countries for 2023, proving a successful year for her.
To cap it off, she was South Africa’s most streamed artist this year and thanked fans for their support through the year.
“NO1 SOUTH AFRICAN MOST STREAMED ARTIST OF THE YEAR IS THE ONE AND ONLY MAKHADZI.🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉💰🔥🔥🔥 23M streams 🎉 I am speechless. It was not easy to make it in the middle of amapiano BUT WITH GOD I MADE IT KA SKOMPO.” she said.
“Thank you for making me to close the year with this happiness. Numbers don’t lie . I work hard I deserve it. . This is a definition of hard work and being real to yourself. More love for you,” she added.

Her Spotify achievement has seen her continue on a hot streak. She also recently bagged a car endorsement with Ford and was recently awarded the Best Traditional Album award at the South African Music Awards (SAMAs), The South African reported.
Makhadzi received messages of support from her followers, congratulating her on her achievement this year.
