Cape Town – Eskom’s new board chairperson, Mteto Nyati, has provided an update on the positive changes taking place at the power utility’s stations under new leadership.
The board has been in place for a year, and Nyati assured Parliament’s Standing Committee on Public Accounts (Scopa) that a new CEO would be appointed by the end of the year, EWN reported.
He was appeared for the first time before Scopa on Tuesday.

Nearly a year has passed since the former Eskom CEO, Andre de Ruyter, tendered his resignation with a three-month notice period.
“Recently, we as a board submitted three names of appointable candidates to our minister here, Pravin Gordhan. He is now taking these names through the relevant government processes,” the report quoted Nyati as saying.
