Cape Town – Ousted EFF Member of Parliament, Vusi Khoza, has expressed his continued respect for party leader Julius Malema despite being expelled and criticised.
Khoza believes his expulsion was influenced by “hyenas and vultures” close to Malema who provided misleading information.
“I have enough love & respect for this Leader. One of the best in this country country, Africa & the world. His biggest challenge is that he is surrounded by hyenas, vultures & scavengers. This is my last salute to you CIC as we part ways. Pity it ended this way. One Love. Salute!,” Khoza wrote in a message on X.

According to Times Live, Khoza maintains that the decision to expel him and other party representatives was too harsh, although he recognises the need for consequence management within the party.
His appeal is pending, but he doubts its outcome due to Malema’s comments.
“There might be nothing wrong with the leader, but he might be surrounded by people who lie to him or misrepresent certain things. I still have respect for him [Malema] but the biggest challenge is he is surrounded by hyenas, vultures and scavengers. All I am saying is we must be mindful of those things,” the report quoted Khoza as saying.
Khoza was instructed to step down from his position as a Member of Parliament because he did not arrange for the hiring of 20 buses to transport supporters from KwaZulu-Natal to Johannesburg for the party’s 10-year anniversary celebrations.
Malema publicly supported Khoza’s expulsion. When questioned about the potential consequences of removing Khoza and 62 other councillors just before national elections, Malema remarked:”How can someone who couldn’t even provide a bus make you lose votes? That individual is not a human being. They should go and engage in rural farming instead.”
Despite the situation, Khoza has no regrets about joining the EFF and looks forward to the future.
The expulsion of other councillors is also being debated, with the appeal process set for later this month.
