Cape Town – The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) is set to conduct new interviews for positions in the country’s courts, beginning with the search for four candidates for the Supreme Court of Appeal (SCA).
The round of interviews will kick off on Monday.
Notably, some of these candidates have previously been unsuccessful in securing judicial appointments, EWN reported.
Among the 11 candidates being interviewed for the SCA, Fayeeza Kathree-Setiloane, the most senior woman judge in the Gauteng High Court, and David Unterhalter, another Gauteng High Court judge, are making return attempts after previously failing to secure seats on the Constitutional Court, the report said.
Mpumalanga judge Maleshane Kgoele, Eastern Cape High Court judge John Smith, and other judges are also vying for positions in the Supreme Court of Appeal, with some attempting this for the first time.
The interviews will span five days and include positions in the high court, electoral court, and labour court as well.
