Cape Town — Pearl Thusi recently took to social media to give birthday wishes to her daughter Thando Mokoena as she celebrated her 16th birthday.
She posted a series of pictures and videos of the two together as Thando grew older. She made sure to write a special message to her daughter and explained how she is so proud of the lady Thando’s growing into and how grateful she is that her daughter gets to call her mommy.
“How is it possible that my little human is 16 years old? Happy Birthday my love. I’m so proud of the young lady you’re becoming. I’m so proud that you call me, out of all the women in the world, mother. And I couldn’t be more grateful to God that I have the honour of calling you my daughter. 🤍”

In August, Pearl and Thando enjoyed some mommy-daughter bonding time, as the two vacationed in Mozambique.
The two browsed the city sights, enjoyed the beach and sunshine and went on a private boat cruise. Pearl believes in setting a good example for her daughter. She said that she’s setting the bar on how Thando should be treated, and in doing so, she hopes her daughter understands the assignment.
