Cape Town – Another fire has occurred in a “hijacked” building in Marshalltown, Johannesburg, just weeks after a deadly blaze devastated a nearby building.
The Johannesburg Emergency Management Services (EMS) confirmed the fire at 1 Delvers Close on Friday morning.
The building in question is a three-story structure that had been occupied by squatters.
Fortunately, all occupants were safely evacuated, and there have been no reported injuries.
Another fire has broken out in the Joburg CBD allegedly at another hijacked building. Xolile Khumalo from the Johannesburg Fire Department says everyone has been safely evacuated from the 3-storey building in Marshalltown.
