Cape Town – The legal proceedings against Julius Malema, leader of the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF), and his co-accused Andriaan Snyman are set to resume in the East London Magistrates’ Court on Monday.
Malema is charged with discharging a firearm in public during the EFF’s 5th-anniversary celebration at the Sisa Dukashe Stadium in 2018, with Snyman serving as his bodyguard at the time.
“The President and Commander In Chief @Julius_S_Malema will appear in the East London Magistrate’s Court, in the Eastern Cape, as the trial regarding the alleged discharging of a firearm at the EFF 5th Anniversary Celebrations resumes,” the EFF said in a statement.

The purported shooting gained significant traction on social media platforms, depicting him holding a rifle and reportedly firing multiple shots into the air.
