Cape Town – The South African government plans to unveil its official blueprint for electricity production in the next decade, known as the Integrated Resource Plan 2023, by the end of September, according to Electricity Minister Kgosientsho Ramokgopa.
This plan will detail the state’s intentions regarding new power plants and the expected costs of electricity.
The Department of Mineral Resources and Energy (DMRE) will be responsible for determining the energy mix in the plan, even though Ramokgopa’s office has the authority to make this decision.
