‘Idols SA’ finalist Terra Cox dies

Cape Town – Tersius Eathon Kocks, also known as Terra Cox, a contestant from season 12 of Idols SA, has died.

The news of his passing was confirmed by Alton Zakay Music, his label.

The label expressed their condolences to his family and friends and mentioned plans to commemorate and celebrate his life.

“It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Tersius Eathon Kocks known as Terra Cox. We want to express our sincere condolences.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends. We hope that they find peace and comfort during this difficult time of bereavement. We will share more details on how we will commemorate and celebrate the life of a great brother, artist, and friend,” The Citizen quoted the label as saying.

According to Sunday World, Terra Cox was found dead at his home on Sunday.

He was 35.

Terra Cox auditioned for Idols SA in 2016, reaching the top 4.

Following his journey on the show, he signed with Gallo Record Company and released the hit song “Raise the Dead”.

Tributes have poured in on social media, with Idols SA remembering him as a talented performer.

“The @Mzansimagic and #IdolsSA family are deeply saddened by the news of the passing of Season 12 contestant, Terra Cox. We’ll remember him as a talented performer. Rest in power.”
