Cape Town – South African rapper Pitch Black was reportedly released from jail last Friday.
He had been serving time for the death of his fiancé, Catherine Modisane.
The Department of Correctional Services confirmed his release, saying that he benefited from a special remission of sentence.
“The department can confirm that [he] was released as his sentence expired on 18 August 2023. He benefited from the special remission of sentence,” The Citizen quoted Department of Correctional Services spokesperson Singabakho Nxumalo as saying.
Pitch Black Afro, also known as Thulani Ngcobo, was originally sentenced for culpable homicide following his wife’s death due to blunt force trauma in 2018 at a Johannesburg BnB, ZiMOJA reported.
