Cape Town – The Western Cape High Court has issued an interim order against the SA National Taxi Council (Santaco) to put an end to violent attacks on Golden Arrow Bus Services (GABS).
According to News24, the court order, granted by Judge Patrick Gamble in an urgent application, requires Santaco and its members to ensure that GABS and its passengers are not subjected to intimidation, threats, or harassment.
The order took effect immediately after the brief court proceedings that began at 12:30.

During the ongoing taxi strike, GABS chairperson Yunis Shaik reported that the company has lost six buses, each worth millions of dollars, due to attacks.
Santaco’s affiliates unexpectedly stopped their services, leaving many taxi commuters stranded without transportation home.
Since then, there have been numerous incidents of stone-throwing and arson reported.
