Cape Town – UDM leader Bantu Holomisa has called for unity among opposition parties to challenge the ANC, which he accused of corruption and mismanagement of state funds.
Holomiose said this while addressing a crowd at the EFF’s anniversary celebration.
“The ANC criminals have eaten the state money, and now is the time for the opposition to be united, Holomisa said.
He said that the Marikana massacre was a pivotal moment in politics that gave rise to the EFF.
“Indeed, a dreadful time in the history of this country and we remember those departed souls. May their souls rest in peace.
“The arrival of the Economic Freedom Fighters onto the political landscape of South Africa has enhanced the checks and balances of our system,” said Holomisa.

The EFF had invited leaders from various political parties, including Azapo, PAC, UDM, and ATM, to mark their 10 years in politics.
Holomisa emphasised the need for opposition parties to come together before the 2024 elections to effectively remove the ANC from power.
Other speakers, like ATM leader Vuyo Zungula, echoed the sentiment, saying that unity among opposition parties was essential for success in the upcoming elections.
Zungula commended the party for its longevity.
“As the ATM, we want to wish you well for the next 10 years and most importantly, we want to say as the ATM let us work together. There is no future in this country if we do not stand together.”
