Cape Town – Eskom has announced that varying stages of load shedding will be implemented from Friday until Monday morning.
Currently, Stage 1 load shedding is in place until 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, after which it will be escalated to Stage 3 until midnight.
Power cuts will be suspended until 5:00 a.m. on Friday, and then the cycle will repeat on Friday and Saturday.

“Breakdowns slightly increased to 15 100 MW of generating capacity while the generating capacity out of service for planned maintenance slightly increased to 5 252MW,” Eskom said in a statement.
Within the past 24 hours, a generating unit at the Arnot power station was brought back online, but a unit at the Matimba power station experienced a breakdown.
There are also delays in returning two generating units at the Tutuka power station to service.
