Cape Town — Chicken Licken, a fast food brand from South Africa, has released a highly impressive and entertaining advertisement.
The advert features a fictional football coach named Jose Mercibeaucoup, referred to as “Jose Mazibuko” by South Africans. This coach stands out for his unconventional coaching approach and tactics. Instead of traditional formations like 4-4-2 or 4-3-3, he employs unique formations such as 7-2-1 and 1-0-9.
Jose’s methods include having players hold hands on the pitch, blindfolding them during training, and constantly changing their positions in each game. These unconventional tactics confuse and unsettle their opponents.
The advert also features renowned South African football coaches Jomo Sono and Gavin Hunt, who provide their insights and experiences on how Joserevolutionised the game of football.
Many pundits and analysts have been intrigued by the origin of Jose’s methods and have put in significant effort to decipher his approach. Overall, the advert showcases the amusing and humorous style of advertising that South African fast food brands are known for.
Jose grows in popularity through the video and fans love his crazy tactics, which seem to work every time as Sono says “win after win, win after win.”
When one pundit asks why he stays in South Africa, the end of the video reveals him sitting in a Chicken Licken and he hears an order number 2-0-8, revealing his Chicken Licken order numbers to be the key to his success.
