Cape Town – German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock is seeking to understand South Africa’s stance on the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine.
Baerbock, who is in South Africa for the bi-national commission meeting, considers recent developments in Russia significant, EWN reported.
She believes that South Africa, given its historical figures like Nelson Mandela and Desmond Tutu, can play a role in ending the aggression in Ukraine.

President Cyril Ramaphosa’s recent peace mission to Russia and Ukraine has already indicated Africa’s concern about the war.
Baerbock wants to grasp the South African government’s perspective on the global situation.
In addition to the conflict, other topics on her agenda include green technology investment, mRNA vaccine production expansion, and climate change initiatives.
