Five men are currently on trial for his murder.
The trial was delayed by over an hour on Monday before Gauteng Deputy Judge President Aubrey Ledwaba addressed the court and announced the postponement.
“The reason why I’m appearing today is because my colleague, Judge Maumela, is not available due to ill health and may not be available for a long time subject to what his medical doctors may say.”
“However, because of the importance of this matter and the publicity that it is getting from the media, we have made arrangements that this matter should proceed in the third term so that it can be finalised as soon as possible,” EWN quoted Maumela as saying.
The trial will now resume on 17 July and will run for the entire third term to expedite the process.
