Cape Town – Police have launched a manhunt for the perpetrators involved in the murder of a well-known businesswoman and her relative in Limpopo.
The bodies of the two victims, both in their seventies, were found burned inside separate buildings at a hotel in Ohrigstad on Saturday.
The police were alerted to the incident after reports of trouble at the premises.
“According to the information received, police were alerted of an incident which suggested that there was trouble in the Premises. On their arrival at the scene, they found two burnt bodies of white male and female inside two different building (houses).
“The deceased are identified as 77-year-old and 73-year-old owner of the business and her nephew.
“According to the information received, one male wearing balaclavas was seen fleeing the scene,” police spokesperson Colonel Malesela Ledwaba said.
The motive behind the killings remains unknown.
No arrests have been made so far.
The Limpopo provincial commissioner has condemned the attack and urged anyone with information to come forward and assist the police in their investigation.
